Use Pittsburgh. The hotel is already booked downtown, the drive home is cleaner, and the city gives you a more distinctive two-day family finish. Columbus is a good fallback if you want zoo/waterpark/LEGO energy, but it reads more like a separate kid-city weekend than the better ending to this trip.
